Ed Schmidt

Ed Schmidt is a pastel and colored pencil artist living in Alexandria, MN. Growing up in North Dakota he began drawing at an early age with the encouragement of his parents. Formal education came at Dickinson State College in Dickinson, ND. Inspired by old masters like Claude Monet and western artists Charles Russell and Frederick Remington, Ed seeks his own path depicting animals and landscapes, with horse themes being a special inspiration. Ed has exhibited work at the Art of the Lakes Gallery in Battle Lake, MN.
