Congratulations to our May Artist of the Month - Jean Schonberg

Jean Schonberg’s artistic journey is rooted in a lifelong appreciation for creativity, shaped through self-guided study, community education, and hands-on exploration. She first began working in watercolor in the 1970s, later setting it aside as life’s responsibilities took precedence.

In recent years, encouraged by her daughters—both artists themselves—Jean returned to her practice with renewed energy and purpose.

 Today, Jean works across a range of mediums including watercolor, watercolor batik, collage, and weaving.. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, her work reflects a deep sense of observation and quiet beauty. Guided by her faith, she views creativity as an extension of the divine, seeking through each piece to capture and share the beauty she sees in the world around her.
