Second Notice of proposed change to Bylaws
According to the bylaws of the Guild, notice must be given to the members at least one month prior to the annual meeting, at which time the change will be voted on. Currently our bylaws provide for voting of board members only once a year at our annual meeting. There is no other mechanism for adding board members. We have come up against situations where it would be helpful to be able to install interim board members at other times throughout the year. The following in black is our current ARTICLE IV – Board of Directors and we propose to change this by adding the words in red.
“Section 1. Membership of the Board of Directors — The Board of Directors shall consist of 3-9 members elected by the Guild members at the Annual Business Meeting. To fill open board positions if less than 9, the President may at his or her discretion present prospective candidates to the Board for approval by Board vote at other times throughout the fiscal operating calendar. These appointments shall be considered interim until the next annual meeting.”
These changes will be voted on at our Annual Meeting on August 20, 2025.
August Pot-Luck — note change of location
August pot-luck will be hosted by Bonnie Tressler at her home near Brandon. This is also our Annual Meeting for members. A small portion of the evening will be used to vote for new board members and vote on the proposed change to the bylaws. There will still be plenty of time to visit, network, and possibly even have a round-table discussion. Please make every effort to attend!

Survey UpdateThank you so much to all of you for taking the time to answer the survey questions and provide us with a conclusive direction. As is to be expected, not everyone is on the same page, or wants the same things out of the guild, and that’s OK! But a significant number of members were highly interested in having a storefront location in Alexandria to be used for a space to hold shows and sell work. If you have ever looked into leasing a space, you know prime real estate in Alexandria is quite expensive. However, with the support of the membership, the Board has voted to move into negotiations on a space that we think will be workable! Stay tuned for further information to be coming in September!
Board Member Nominees
The current board consists of:
Noni Bjorklund, Linda Gaugert, Deb Gniffke, Denise Morrow, Melody Warren, and Melissa Werpy
Of these all but Linda Gaugert will be resigning by the end of the year for various reasons, none of which have to do with a problem with the Guild.
So far, the nominees are:
Stephen Henning, Julie Bergstrom, and Bonnie Tressler.
If you would like to join this capable group of people to continue to grow the Guild and make it even better, please let me (Noni) know soon! email me at noniob@gmail.com

It has been several years since I have entered anything in the fair, but I decided to do it again this year. It would be so awesome if everyone entered something so we can give our community something fun to look at! Give it a shot!!
*Canceled* Painting/Creating togetherThanks to everyone who participated! I may try to start it up again if my schedule slows down–probably in January!
